Finally! Jimmy Choo Glenys Inspired TB Heels.

Well, ever since the Jimmy Choo Glenys came out I have had a major lemming for them. However, could not afford to doll out $1,000+ for a pair of the beauties, and was quite hesitant about spending less on "replicas" (i.e. fake Jimmy Choos).

I have just bought this 'inspired' pair off eBay - they are Tony Bianco, which I feel much more comfortable with buying rather than a fake pair. I paid $56.00. They are very similar, however there is no platform heel, and the heel is a bit thicker on the TB pair. Can't wait to get them!

Has Country Road Expanded Their Sizing???

Well got a $30 voucher in the mail for making it to the next level of spending with CR Rewards (most thanks go to b/f who bought up big there recently on suits/pea coats/bags/gloves for work)

Took said b/f into the store, fully expecting he would be the one spending the $30 voucher as most CR clothes swim on me (I am a petite size 6) so I usually don't even go to the effort of looking.

Surprisingly enough, I found two staple CR merino wool cardigans, both in XXS. I have never seen a CR cardigan go below an XS, so of course I tried them on. They fit perfectly, I even would have found it tight to button them up, but all I wanted was for them to be worn open. I also found a CR stripey dress in size XXS too! This was meant to be an oversized fit, so it wasn't skin tight on me, but not bad for CR sizing I must admit. **Will add photos of said clothing at a later date!

The cardigans had $30 off them as an in-store promotion on knitwear, so I got them for $70 each (usually $100 each). The dress was $80 at regular price, but I just had to have it. I know these may not be *bargain* buys, but they are good investments for basic quality pieces that will hopefully last a few seasons.

I am completely (and pleasantly!) surprised that CR is adding more XXS sizing to its styles. Is this something new that anyone else has noticed, or have I just been oblivious to this all along?

Hey, I put some new shoes on...

...and suddenly everything's right! Love Paolo Nutini. Anyway, bought these off eBay, but they are yet to arrive. They are Isabella Brown, in the style Lovette. Not particularly expensive, they retail for $40-$50, I picked mine up new in box for $8.00 + $10.00 postage off eBay.

I don't have any shoes like this at all, so I thought why not. They have an in-built platform, and the heel measures 11cm (WHOA - sounds like a lot for tiny 5'1 me!).

Another impulse buy, probably will never wear them *sigh*. You know its not going to be a good outcome when you're already regretting a purchase before you've even gotten it! I so need to go on a spending ban.

Maurie & Eve on threadpeople.com.au

Ooh sneaky. There is a Maurie & Eve Sample Sale running RIGHT NOW at threadpeople.com.au. However, instead of being advertised like their usual sales, this is being called a secret sample sale! Anyway to get to it, click on the sales calendar link, and then from there you will see under today's date 14th July, that there is text that says Maurie & Eve Sample Sale. Just click on this text and you will be taken to the sale.

I honestly don't see anything there that wasn't here when they ran their proper Maurie & Eve sale a few weeks back... maybe prices have dropped??? Not sure what the difference is, but if you missed out the first time, well enjoy!

Aurelio Costarella Flounce Dress for $99.00!

This morning I managed to pick up the black silk Aurelio Costarella Flounce Dress. This is from 2008 season, so a few years old. But, considering the RRP was over $800, and I got it for $99, I'm certainly not complaining.

I got this magnificent bargain off http://www.buyinvite.com.au
-The site is free to join.

Last time I checked (about 9:30am), there was one left in a size 10.
At 6:00am there were:
-Two size 6's (of which I bought one!)
-One size 8
-Four size 10's
-One size 12

So as you can see, they didn't last long at all!

I like the styling of the runway model, with a silk belt around the waist to give shape. Think I will DIY one of those for myself. Being a black dress, it shouldn't be too hard to track down some similar material and make one up!

Authentic Sass and Bide Rats for $50.00?! Definite Bargain!

Thought I would share quite the bargains I got last week from the general pants instore sale - buy one, get one free on all sale items. We were in Melbourne visiting for a few days, excellent timing for this sale

First stop was GP in Melbourne Central, where I scored a pair of Sass & Bide Black Rats (on sale for $100, and also the last pair in store in size S/M), and a pair of Levi extreme skinny black jeans (on sale for $100, last pair in my size 6!). Due to the offer, it meant I got both items for $100, so basically $50 each!

*NB: My Levi jeans are this same style, but without the rips.

In addition, we then found ourselves at GP in Eastland a few days later, and I scored this pair of Neon Hart Shiny Zip Leggings. On sale for $40, I got it for half price as my b/f found some t-shirts to balance it out for the special offer!

-Not sure if the sale is still going on in-stores or not, but what a bargain! I guess I am all set for black pants/jeans for this winter!

One Teaspoon, Tigerlily and Sass and Bide for Lovable on SALE

One Teaspoon, Tigerlily, and Sass & Bide for Lovable Sale started this morning at www.ozsale.com.au.

They did have some great bargains, such as $5.00 old season OT dresses! However most of that was sold out by the time I popped on at 9:00am (Priority members pay $100 a year to get earlier access at 7:00am).

I picked up two lots of the One Teaspoon Free Love Dress! Amazing! I've been eyeing this off for a while ever since it appeared on the One Teaspoon Online store for $40.00. SO when it popped up on OzSale for $27.00 I just had to have it. It normally sells for $90 each at RRP.

I bought the grey and black colourway, so for two of those and postage it cost me a mere $62.00 all up including postage. Awesome hey!

Get on over there and check it out for yourself! Quite a few of the items are taken straight from the One Teaspoon Online Store sale, at slightly cheaper prices! I was also very tempted by the gorgeous April Rose mini dress in blue, but decided against it.

Bargains from myclotheshorse.com.au

Girls, this site (www.myclotheshorse.com.au) has just started selling Cassette Society pieces at super cheap prices. This is on top of the brands they already stock, including Alice McCall, Fleur Wood, Natasha Gan, Shakuhachi, Wayne Cooper etc. Really great site that I love.

**BONUS: If you join following my link HERE you will get $10 credit to use with them! What do I get? Well if you ever decide to buy anything from these good folk, then I also get $10 credit. Win, win, huh? :)

I just bought this for $33.00:
-Cassette Society moonshatter zip skirt.

I was umming and ahhing over this one, thinking I might hold off in case the price dropped further. As it would happen, I had one of these in my cart, and I accidentally tried to add another. This alerted me to the fact that there was only ONE skirt left in my size! So of course I took that as a sign and immediately bought it before it was gone!

More Grand Social Goodies

Well had another peek on GS again, and they have added new pieces to the sale! I got a few more Cassette Society pieces:

-Electric Fringing Top: RRP $94.95. Bought for $14.00
-Cloud Layered Mini Skirt. RRP $114.95. Bought for $16.00

As you can see from the photos below (taken from GS), the titles don't seem to match the items. I mean, that picture is clearly of a dress, not a top. The skirt I supposedly bought looks like a dress in the photo, though maybe it is a top and skirt in same print.

I have no clue. I guess it might turn into a lucky dip hehe. For those crazy prices though, I'm not complaining!

I really cannot resist a bargain. Both of these would have cost $200+ if bought at retail price. I got them both for $30, including free shipping. Gotta love GS.

Opinions On a Blog Sale?

Just thought I'd post this to get a general feeling of how my blog followers would feel if I started selling my unwanted items on my blog?

I have a ridiculous shopping habit, and can't say no to a bargain, so I have a constant stream of clothes and accessories that I go through. I would be mainly selling clothing suitable for a size 6-8, sometimes a small 10. But of course would also have many other items suitable for everyone, such as jewellery, bags, accessories etc. You can browse through my recent blog posts to get an idea of my style.

At the moment I sell through eBay (my username is mandstar87). But I'd definitely be keen to sell through my blog for cheaper prices if it means I can avoid the hassle of eBay altogether.

Any comments/suggestions would definitely be appreciated :)

Zyla Online Sale!

Sale on NOW at www.zyla.com.au

They sell brands such as: State of Georgia, Blessed are the Meek, Kuku, This is Genevieve etc. I think you will find most of the pieces on sale are old seasons. But hey, if it looks good, then why not!

I picked up the following pieces, all from Amar: Haven't really heard of them before, but their pieces look great, and everything is silk so quality can't be terrible.

Silk Bolero: Was $220, now $30 (I did a search and found the exact same item on a different site "on sale" for $110 - shows that it really does pay to shop around!)
Silk Dress: Was $220, now $50
Silk White Top: Was $200, $30

Err...more shopping, whoops!

Well, seems like exam time is actually making me shop more, not less!!! Aside from the handful of eBay purchases I have made, I have always bought two things from the Grand Social sale that started today.

There are quite a few things under $20, even a top for $11, which is super cheap considering postage is free!

Here's what I picked up:

-Cassette Society Valley Heart Tee Dress for $28.99, RRP $85 (been after this one for a while)
-Cassette Society Space Swirl Dress for $18.00, RRP $135 (No idea when I would ever wear this, but what the heck for $18.00!)

Plenty of other great buys to be had, so head on over before things sell out!

A bit of shopping to break up the study...

Well, as I'm sure you're all aware, there were so many mid-season sales that started today (Country Road, Witchery, Cue etc). Fortunately for my bank balance, I am on a ban from leaving the house whilst I get some studying for exams. However, doesn't stop me from taking a peek online hehe.

Made a visit to the General Pants Online Store earlier, and picked up the following; Oh yes, and got free shipping as I spent right on $75!

Don't Ask Amanda Zip Military Fleece Jacket: RRP $90, Bought for $40.
**To be honest, I have been searching high and low for the One Teaspoon Cavalry Jacket in a size 6, but couldn't find it so I've settled for this instead.

Neon Hart Lace Back Tee: RRP $60, bought for $20

Agent 99 Viscose Swing Tank in grey marle: RRP $30, bought for $15

If anyone ever sees the One Teaspoon Cavalry Jacket in a size 6, please let me know! It looks something like this;

Emerald Rice Jeans for $17.00 - Crazy!

Just a quick post, as I really should be studying for exams right now (less than a week to go...eek!)

Today, I bought this pair of jeans. They are Emerald Rice, by Seven For All Mankind (SFAM). They have an RRP of $318, and I got them for just $17.00 + $9 postage.

These are from the site www.ozsale.com.au. If you need an invite link to get onto this site, please click HERE

I had to get them in a size 23, as this was the only size left. But I'm a pretty small 6, so I'm hoping they will fit. But if not, really for $26 it is worth trying them to find out!

Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser Review

This product had me excited. As a revolutionary new way to cleanse my face, I was keen to give it a go. My first attempt with the Neutrogena Wave was not without its problems. Perhaps it was just me, but I had an epic 10-min battle trying to get the battery cover off without breaking my already short nails. Enter boyfriend-in-shining armour, who flicked it off in 0.05 seconds. Typical.

Whilst I absolutely love the innovativeness behind this product, I don't think it would work for everyone. Firstly, your choice of cleanser is limited to the Deep Clean Range. Not at all a problem for me as I love that range, but could be a hurdle if you have sensitive/special-needs skin. Secondly, the foaming cleanser just did not 'foam' as promised. On closer inspection it had foamed up well on the pad, but this just wasn't translating to my face. Finally, the need to buy refill pads also was a negative for me. As each pad must be changed after use, this can be a costly exercise if you're like me and like to wash your face day and night. I love Neutrogena products and will continue to use the gel and cream cleaners I have from them, but the Wave is just not for me. I prefer a good old-fashioned scrub with my hands and a quality cleanser.

Despite these downfalls, the novelty of the cleanser still gets a thumbs-up from me. Loved the massaging feeling from the vibrations, and the contours made it easy to grip and manoeuvre. If you are thinking of purchasing this product, the novelty of it alone is probably worth it. I live in a shared house. My boyfriend currently thinks it's the funniest thing to leave it running at strange times of the day and night, to make my housemates think it is something else...! As I have said, the novelty factor of this product is through the roof.

RRP $19.99 for Neutrogena power-cleanser and 14 included pads. Refills come in packs of 30, at a cost of RRP $13.99.

A Little Bit of Tony Bianco Lovin'

Just a quick post about a pair of shoes I received in the mail today. On eBay (LOVE) I scored a pair of Tony Bianco Prance shoes in black leather for $38.00 (RRP $140). They aren't current season shoes - but look at them, would they ever be out of season?! Yes, I am in love. Perfect shape, perfect heel height.

I will let you in on a guilty secret - I actually already own this style in black patent leather AND a nude patent leather!!!

Partner: You already have those shoes! How are you justifying another pair?
Me: ...err, umm... work... yes, work! I need them for when I get a job (still at Uni FYI). I can't wear my black patent ones to work as ...err.... they'd be too shiny! (not necessarily true, but it sounds good...)

I also got the other two pairs also for around the same price, albeit a few months before (again, eBay). So, if you think about it, I really got three pairs of these beauties for the cost of one!

Ta Da! L-R: Plain black leather, honey nude patent leather, black patent leather

Just between you and me, I feel like a little bit of a shoe shop owner.
